Drawings and surveys by Edward Henry Columbine, circa 1789-1802.

Album of coastal profiles, watercolour views and charts made by Columbine during surveys in Scotland and the West Indies, circa 1789-1802. Covered in thin leather on cardboard and holding 78 pages, including 10 pages for surveys of Trinidad left blank. There are printed charts of St John’s Harbour in Antigua, surveyed by Columbine in 1789-1790 and published by W. Faden, London, in 1793 (see pages 59-60). Also a watercolour showing a warship being careened at English Harbour, Antigua (page 77). A small number of drawings show parts of Ireland, Norway and Teneriffe.
