A letter from Henry Ricket to his son William.

A letter from Henry Ricket concerning how happy he is to hear from his son William as the family had been led to believe he was dead not having heard from him since 1846. There were two accounts of the son dying one being that the son had last been seen in Calcutta and had been hosptitalized with the Black Fever (Visceral Leishmaniasis). Another account told of the son been swept off to sea in a gale.
