In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
The Commissioner at Chatham wished to know what priority he should give to the various works he had been ordered to carry out, viz
- docking and refitting the MONTAGUE;
- the VICTORY;
- the small frigate ordered to be built according to Lord Carmarthen's instructions;
- a new brigantine to be put in hand;
- new 2nd and 3rd Rates.
He is instructed to carry on working on the MONTAGUE, the VICTORY, and the new 2nd and 3rd Rates while ensuring that the new 6th Rate is ready by mid-October next to fetch His Majesty from Holland. Work on the brigantine is to be suspended pro tem.
