In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

The Lord Berkeley having by his letter of the 27th instant to this board acquainted us that Mr Gerey and others have Clothed his Regiment for the year 1694, and that there is due to them £6395.6s.6d, which his Lordship desires may be imprested to them, and charged on the Soldiers Wages, without which he says it will be impossible to get credit to clothe them another year, they having been out of their money two years, that the other Regiment who clothed at the same time have been payed their money 18 months since. We do thereby desire and direct you forthwith to consider of this matter, and give us your opinion what is fitting to be done therein.
