In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

You sent us a letter you had received from Consul Kecks at Rotterdam, complaining that he is to disburse money for the care of English seamen that have come into those parts and have gone into the Dutch service for want of someone to provide for them and send them home. We have therefore directed that he should provide for them and send them home and that these charges shall be defrayed by your Board, upon his producing vouchers as you shall advise. He shall put seamen aboard such of His Majesty's ships as come to Holland, in particular the CENTURION and ESSEX prize. You are directed to send to Mr Keck, such directions as you think necessary so that no opportunity of returning these seamen to England and His Majesty is not put to any unnecessary charge in maintaining them.
