In your letter of 29 January, you informed us that the Surveyor of the Navy had viewed a pump which Colonel Richards had made. You having proposed to us that an experiment be made in one of the ships at Deptford, as Colonel Richards proposes, at His Majesty's charge. You are directed to have this experiment made accordingly as soon as may be.
