In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Your letter of 8 February advised us that the WARSPITE cannot be of further service without rebuilding and you proposed that she should be laid up and her officers and servants discharged. You are directed to pay her off and lay her up accordingly. You advised us that Mr Moor of Arundel intends to launch the SWIFT advice boat on 27 February and we have allowed her the same number of men and number and nature of guns as the EAGLE advice boat. You are directed to have her fitted out for service in the Channel, manned with her full complement and victualled for 3 months. She is to be registered on the list of the Royal Navy accordingly.
