In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
We have named the new 6th Rate building at Sheerness the LIZARD (established with the same number of men and guns as is allowed to the MAIDSTONE) which will be ready to launch at the latter end of March. You are directed to have her launched as soon as is convenient and fitted out for service in the Channel and victualled for 3 months. You having proposed the setting up of a new 5th Rate in her place, you are directed to have this done accordingly with the dimensions of those last built.
