In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

You are direct to order the Commissioners of the Victualling to supply the ships of the squadron going to the West Indies, the said squadron being ordered from the Downes to Spithead. The SUNDERLAND at Spithead is to be furnished with all possible dispatch with what bread and pease she is in want of. We have ordered the Commander-in-Chief in the Downes to take all but one month's provisions from the IPSWICH and to put this aboard the SEAFORD and to let the Commissioners of the Victualling know how much they will require to complete for 8 months. You are directed to give orders for the completion of victuals of the CHATHAM at Blackstakes, the SHEERNESS at the Nore, and the SEAFORD in the Downes for an 8 month voyage to the West Indies. You are to have the PORTLAND in the Downes and the GUERNSEY at Spithead victualled for 8 months and in the case of ships already mentioned in want of naval stores, you are to have them furnished at the place where they now are. The Captain of the GOSPORT advises that he does not have his Surgeon's necessaries nor any fishing gear on board, and that he wants 10 weeks bread. You are to see that he is furnished with these without the loss of a moment's time.
