In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

You are directed to pay Captain Elliot, Commander of the BRISTOL, or such person who is legally empowered to receive his pay, 2/3 of the pay due to him. You are to take care that the King is made a saver out of the rest of his pay due, in case it is found that he has borne more men than he ought, or otherwise has not complied with his instructions.
