In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
The YARMOUTH, CANTERBURY, COVENTRY, DRAGON, FALMOUTH, GLOUCESTER, ROCHESTER, ROMNEY and ADVENTURE, have arrived in the Downes with the Turkey merchant ships and others from the Straits. We are informed that the YARMOUTH has a quantity of silks and other merchant goods on board and you are directed to have the freights stopped. You are to find out if any of the other men-of-war have any silks or other goods on board and, if so, to take care that the freights are stopped. You are to give us an account of what the whole of the freights amounts to.
