Document signed by Josiah Burchett (c.1666-1746), Secretary to the Admiralty (1694-1742)
Application has been made to the Admiralty Commissioners by Thomas Wilshaw, one of the members of your Board, that he may have leave for a month for the recovery of his health.
They direct that you give him leave accordingly. They also ask that you opine what Member of your Board is most proper to be sent to Portsmouth to manage the affairs of HM's Yard there in the absence of Mr Greenhill, who has been chosen to serve in this present Parliament.
