Document signed by Josiah Burchett (c.1666-1746), Secretary to the Admiralty (1694-1742)
Captain Christopher Billop has applied for the pay due him since June 1684, alleging that the only reason he has not been paid is that he has been put on the recall. There have been several past letters about Captain Billop's affairs which will require a considerable time to peruse. Their Lordships ask that, notwithstanding you have already been to a great deal of trouble about this matter, you will let me know whether you have any objection to the payment of Captain Billop's wages.
