In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
This is to certify that John Hornsby stands on the GLOUCESTER and the MARY's books, but Stephen Sawyer is not borne on either of them. John Hornsby was discharged from the GLOUCESTER into the MARY on 12 May 1697 and a Run being noted against his name in the GLOUCESTER's books a stop was put on the payment of his wages for the MARY. As the Run on the MARY's books was for 1 month, 2 weeks and 1 day, before the company were hired into the WEYMOUTH, John Hornsby cannot be relieved by the Lordships order of 12 November 1697 for taking off the Run. Not signed or dated.
