Document signed by Josiah Burchett (c.1666-1746), Secretary to the Admiralty (1694-1742)

I have received your letter of yesterday, with an account of the cash and tallies in the hands of the Treasurer of the Navy towards defraying the debts of the Navy. I have also received an account of how matters stand in your office and have laid the same before their Lordships. There is at best a difference of about £100 between the two accounts Their Lordships have supposed you discussed this with the Paymaster before writing your letter and direct that you let them know how this difference has arrived.
