In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Your letters of 11, 16 and 17 January advised that you had considered the several petitions about Qs and Rs and sent us the state of each man's case. We direct that in the cases of Peter Gange, William Ward, Tobias Cruiser, Robert Nicholson, Henry Brown, William Petefer, Henry Roberts, Thomas Starr, John Rathbone, John Buckley, Moses Nodd, Michael Taylor, John Whyly, Mark Gale, Mathew Dennis, and Robert Ostler the Qs and Rs are to be taken off. The Qs on Dennis Ansell, Nathaniel Burroughs and Charles Torland are to be taken off if they could not be re-entered on their proper ships as is alleged. As for Richard Ball a Marine, you are to give us your reasons for stopping his wages on the ships books upon information received from Captain Plunkett. You are to note our directions for taking off Qs and Rs given to you on 28 October and 23 December last.
