In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
At a Court Martial held on board the HAMPSHIRE on 10 February in the River Thames, Sir Cloudesley Shovell, Admiral of the Blue, President, John Mackey, Carpenter of the BEDFORD galley was tried for quarrelling and abusing John Williams, Master. He was judged guilty and to be dismissed from his employment. He is to forfeit 4 months pay to go to the Chest at Chatham. We enclose the sentence of the court and direct you to see that this forfeiture is paid to the Chest accordingly.
