Document signed by Josiah Burchett (c.1666-1746), Secretary to the Admiralty (1694-1742)

Jarvis Ward has sent a petition setting forth that Captain Loades detained the ticket of Cornelius Pritchett his apprentice, for his service in the ROMNEY because he was the Captain's Servant. It appears to this Board that Pritchett was an apprentice by indenture to Jarvis Ward when on board the ROMNEY. Captain Loades has written giving an account that Pritchett offered himself voluntarily as a Servant and that he did not know that Pritchett was an apprentice. Their Lordships direct what you think fitting upon consideration of the enclosed papers.
