Document signed by Josiah Burchett (c.1666-1746), Secretary to the Admiralty (1694-1742)

Their Lordships are receiving every day letters from the women concerned about the pay due to the MARY and GLOUCESTER's men. I am enclosing one of the letters and you are directed to give the most satisfactory answer you can to prevent their constant clamour. If there is anything more which prevents the men paid than being put on recalls, their Lordships would have you let them know with your opinion what may be fit to be done.
