In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Your letter of 13 February informed us that the Officers of Sheerness have advised that there are several small works to be done to complete the OXFORD, which were not done after her return to Woolwich in 1697. You are directed to have these works put in hand and completed as soon as may be. Your letter of 14 February advised that in the opinion of the Commissioners and Officers of the Portsmouth yard about the RESTORATION, many materials of the ship may serve again to re-build her. About £3 per ton may be saved and you are directed to re-build her accordingly.
