Document signed by Josiah Burchett (c.1666-1746), Secretary to the Admiralty (1694-1742)

Their Lordships have received a letter from Captain Brexton and Captain Hargrove, whose companies were transported to Newfoundland when Colonel Gibson lately went there. They request allowance money for their companies during their being on board and have enclosed lists of names of their men and the period of their allowance, for which they have offered to make oath. You are directed to consider the lists and to report what you think is to be done.
