In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Your report of 8 February about the petition of Richard Thompson for his expenses during the time he acted as Muster Master, Agent and Storekeeper at Jamaica by Captain Wilmot's warrant, advised us that the claims in his petition were on account of the Victualing and Ordnance offices as well as that of the Navy. No muster books were received from him or any stores sent to him to occasion the hiring of storehouses for the Navy. The stores he bought being supposed to be delivered directly on board the ships by the merchants, as has been customary. He having charged no commission for the money drawn on your office, you conceive he may deserve £100 for his service and you are directed to pay this sum to him.
