In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Your letter of 21 February advised which ships should be taken in hand at Portsmouth after the ROYAL OAK and EDGAR are dispatched. You agree with the officers of the Portsmouth yard that it will be best to proceed with the repair of the GREENWICH and ROYAL KATHERINE next, and that the RESTORATION, CAPTAIN and ELIZABETH should succeed them and be taken down to the gun deck as they have proposed so that they can be heaved up to the dry dock, or upon the launch to be rebuilt. You are directed to have the works put in hand accordingly, and as to the TRIDENT and the two brigantines mentioned in your letter, we shall consider these and send you our orders.
