In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Our Secretary wrote to you on 22 February about the letter from Captain Braxton and Captain Hargreaves, asking to be reimbursed money they have paid to soldiers of their company that went to Newfoundland, under the command of Colonel Gibson, for their short allowance. It appears that the Captains' ought to be reimbursed as they desire and you are directed to have them reimbursed accordingly provided they can assure you that they actually paid the men for their allowance.
