Document signed by Josiah Burchett (c.1666-1746), Secretary to the Admiralty (1694-1742)

Your letter of yesterday about the contract with Mr Waters for building the new docks at Plymouth has gone to their Lordships and they direct that you have the contract transcribed as soon as may be and sent to them. You are also to let them know whether you have had any reason to object to the woks performed so far. Their Lordships have not been informed that it is intended to make an allowance to Mr Waters beyond his contract and you are to let them know if this has already been done.
