Document signed by Josiah Burchett (c.1666-1746), Secretary to the Admiralty (1694-1742)
Sir Charles Hedges has applied for a pension. The Navy Board has written to the Admiralty for authority to grant it; but the Admiralty take the view that as certain emoluments have already been made to Sir Charles the Board need not have approached. They relent however in saying that if the Navy Board is still in doubt they should approach the Admiralty again.
