In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Instructing the repairs due to various ships and vessels named in the margin to be put in hand at Plymouth; and giving orders for preservation work to be carried out on the Hulks in Ordinary at Portsmouth and Chatham, including applying rosin and tallow every Spring and a coat of tar in winter but restricting the amount of scraping. Masts were to be treated twice a year.
