Document signed by Josiah Burchett (c.1666-1746), Secretary to the Admiralty (1694-1742)
Enclosing a copy of a letter from Colonel Gibson in which he describes the hardship experienced by himself and his Officers who accompanied him to Newfoundland due to their having subsidised their Soldiers and subsequent difficulties they have experienced in obtaining short allowance money. An Order is given for the accounts of an intermediary, a Mr Billing, to be passed so that they may be paid.
