In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Extract of a letter from Commissioner St. Loe in which he informs that while Mr Young the Surgeon at Plymouth has a house in the Yard he does not use it and that risks setting a precedent for other Officers to sleep out. He states that if the Navy Board is prepared to sanction Mr Young's absences and to absolve him of keeping watches he is prepared to go along with it.
