Document signed by Josiah Burchett (c.1666-1746), Secretary to the Admiralty (1694-1742)
The Master Attendant at Deptford has informed the Board that Clement Hannam, late Boatswain of the SHARK Brigantine, was appointed as Boatswain of the MARGATE but has been imprisoned for debt. Having become aware of this Charles Stanton the former Boatswain of the MARGATE has written to say that he is now in a position to resume duties as Boatswain of that ship provided that Hannam is officially dismissed.
