Document signed by George St. Loe, 1699.

The results of a Survey of the Docks and Buildings at Plymouth undertaken principally by Commissioner St. Loe assisted by various Dockyard Officers in which reference is made to the Dry Dock as fully serviceable except for seepage since a sluice was added. Soundings have revealed that the depth of water in the Dock varies between the head and the foot. The North wall of the Wet Dock is found to have moved despite being piled and shored. The East and South walls have also moved a little. Defects have been noted with the Wet Dock gates. Depths of water have generally not prevented the operation of the dock however. As to buildings, they are in good condition.
