Document signed by Phineas Bowles, Secretary to the Admiralty [1689-1690], 1647-1714.
The Commander of the THOMAS & ELIZABETH at Deptford is in need of a Master and the Commander of the SALLY ROSE in the Downs is in need of a Boat. The Navy Board is reminded that it is they who should attend to such matters as a matter of course and that the Admiralty should not be troubled with such requests. Captain Lambert, Commander of the NEWCASTLE in the Downs is complaining of not having received the Victuals ordered for the Winter Squadron. An order is issued for her to be supplied immediately.
