Document signed by Phineas Bowles, Secretary to the Admiralty [1689-1690], 1647-1714.
Sir Richard Haddock and Sir Richard Beach have written stating that their ships at Spithead and now fitting out in Portsmouth are in need of beer. The Board is ordered to notify the Gentlemen what steps have been taken to convey the beer to them. The WOOLWICH has been found in too poor a condition to proceed to the Straits. An opinion is required as to her replacement. Sir Richard Haddock has suggested either the PLYMOUTH or the DEPTFORD.
