Document signed by Josiah Burchett (c.1666-1746), Secretary to the Admiralty (1694-1742)

Sir George Rooke, Admiral of the Fleet, has informed by his letter of yesterday's date that the Surgeons of the Ships going on Service with him are not yet supplied with their three months' Necessaries. You are directed to cause all possible dispatch to be made in sending these to Spithead, and in the converting of the SUFFOLK Hagboat to a Hospital ship, and their Lordships wish to know when she will be ready to sail from the River.
Sir George also informs that there is a great want of Slop-Clothes for his Squadron, especially Beds, and you are directed forthwith to send a suitable quantity to them.
