Document signed by Josiah Burchett (c.1666-1746), Secretary to the Admiralty (1694-1742)

I am sending you a List of the Ships that are going on Service with Sir George Rooke, Admiral of the Fleet, to which I have nothing more to add, other than in May last the Admiralty Commissioners directed that all the Ships in Sea Pay should be furnished with six months Necessaries, except several mentioned in the letter, and those in the margin being part of them and of Sir George Rooke's Squadron.
It is hoped that their Surgeons may be furnished with three months Necessaries from those ships that have been supplied with six; however they direct you cause all the Ships of the Squadron to be furnished with the said three months Necessaries so as it may be done most effectively, and with the greatest dispatch.
