Document signed by William Lowndes, 1652-1724, Secretary to the Treasury (from 1695) under King William III and Queen Anne.
The Account which I received from you concerning the heads to which the Moneys already issued to the Navy Treasurer out of the Funds of this year are placed, has not given the satisfaction intended, because it contains less sums than what the Treasurer has received by ten thousand four hundred pounds in the head of Wages and fifteen thousand pounds in the head of Victualling, and does not distinguish how much of the money issued for Wages is in part of the £200000 appropriated for arrears of Wages to Seamen and for Recall.
Please of wear and tear let me have a more exact Account by tomorrow morning and particularly whether the £75000 which has been issued for the Yards is to be placed entirely to the head of Wear and Tear, as by your Account I perceive it is.
