Document signed by Josiah Burchett (c.1666-1746), Secretary to the Admiralty (1694-1742)
I have received your letter of the 17th inst; in which you desire to be informed whether you should pay off the ESSEX PRIZE and SPY Brigantine at Deptford, and several other Ships which you have for a considerable time since received Orders about.
I take it for granted that it is their Lordships intentions that all the said Ships should be paid off as fast as they come into Port for the same. However, when they meet on Monday next I will communicate your letter to them and let you know their pleasure.
