In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Michael Rowe and Daniel Robert have by their Petition to this Board stated that the former was warranted Master of the FORTUNE and the latter served as Mate by Order of the Earl of Belloment, Governor of New England, but the Commissioners who controlled Pay paid Rowe as Mate and Robert as a Foremast man, and they therefore pray to be paid as Master and Mate of a 6th Rate.
We direct you to cause an allowance to be made to Rowe and Robert to the time they are already ordered to be paid, equal to the Wages of Master and Mate of a 6th Rate, and paid by a Bill, as a reward for their good service in saving the Timber and Stores of the FORTUNE after she was cast away.
