In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Following a survey lately taken of the OXFORD, it is represented that she cannot be fitted for a foreign voyage without docking. We have therefore ordered her from Sheerness to Deptford in in order to have a thorough repair. On her arrival in Longreach we direct you to cause her Provisions and Stores to be taken ashore and not put aboard again until further orders from us.
