In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
You having informed us by your letter to our Secretary of yesterday's date that the Master Shipwright at Portsmouth proposes, now the new Docks are so far advanced, the taking down and rebuilding the old Mast House, and making Rooms for the Sail Makers and Joiners to work in, together with a Mold Loft, as the present Work Houses are so much decayed that it is doubted whether they will last another Winter.
You having represented to us that that this work seems absolutely necessary to be done, and that the Estimate of the charge, computed at £2429, was included amongst others in the General Estimate for Extraordinary Works to be performed in HM's Navy this year, we direct you to give the necessary Orders for taking this Work in hand as soon as conveniently may be.
