Accounts of events of 1942 by R. Dry.
Account of R. Dry, with accompanying correspondence October 1947. Mr Dry, a retired senior officer of the IFC, was called upon in 1947 to write an account of the development of events between February and May 1942 in Burma, in order to draft a Plaint against the Government of Burma in connection with their Denial claims; Account of 'The Retreat' by R. Dry, Assistant Manager May/June 1942, is a 43 page document about the company, which he calls 'The Old Flotilla', its importance in the context of the War, and in Brish Burma in general; Account by S.C. Liu, conveyed by R. Dry. Liu, an employee who became a liason officer between the British and Chinese armies remained in Rangoon until 1944. He relays information about the state of the company's properties in Rangoon, which vessels are still functioning, and the general state of affairs during the Japanese occupation.
