The ESSEX is ordered to be refitted at Portsmouth and supplied with Stores and Provisions for service in the Channel.
A Master Shipwright is needed at Plymouth and you are to propose a suitable Person for that employment and a fitting salary.
Several of the inferior Officers of the PENDENNIS have applied for employment. We direct you to order them on board such of HM Ships in Chatham Harbour as you think fit.
The allowance to Miles Tongue as a reward for services at Londonderry is to be paid to Mr Thomas Jackson.
Captain Brian Townsend, Commander of the SWIFT Prize, has informed us that the Ship wants cleaning and fresh ballast, and his letter is enclosed.
We are sending an extract of a letter from Captain Leonard Mochar, Commander of the ANNE hired Ketch, concerning a broken Beam. We direct you to cause a repair to be made, if possible before she sails from the Nore, which we have directed the Commander to do in order to accompany the CONSTANT WARWICK to Ostend.
