In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Several of the Ships laden with Provisions for the Squadron going to the Mediterranean being still detained in the River for want of Men to sail them, and it being absolutely necessary that they be at Spithead before the Squadron sails, we direct you to endeavour to send so many of the Men down to them that lately belonged to the HENRIETTA, CENTURION, ST. DAVID or any other of their Majesties' Ships lately lost, as will be sufficient to man them. When they are on board you are to give them tickets due to them for their service on the Ships to which they last belonged.
We also direct you to cause such of the Men that lately belonged to the ST. DAVID, HENRIETTA and CENTURION who voluntarily enter any of their Majesties' Ships now bound to the Mediterranean and West Indies, to be paid on board the said Ships at Spithead such Wages due to them for their former service in the aforementioned Ships.
