Document signed by James Southerne, Secretary to the Admiralty, fl. 1690-1694.
A letter from Captain Lawrence Wright states that there is a great shortage of Vessels at Portsmouth to carry Provisions to the Fleet. The Victualling Commissioners are to be hastened to supply these, and in particular to the Squadron assigned to the West Indies.
I will ask the Admiralty commissioners for directions about bringing the MORDAUNT into Dock for sheathing and launching before the Spring.
