In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Your letter of the 15th inst; informed us that DOVER Prize which was sunk in the late storm at Plymouth and since recovered, is in such a condition that she cannot be made fit for sea without considerable charge, but she may be very useful in that Port in assisting the Hulk in taking in Guns etc;
We direct you to cause her to be made use of accordingly.
In answer to our letter you have informed us that considering how much Mr John Addis, the Muster Master and Storekeeper at Plymouth will be eased by the Master Shipwright and Clerk of the Survey now appointed for that Port, he will not need another Clerk to assist him in carrying on the business under his care, especially if the 8th article of the Muster Masters' Instructions are dispensed with, which requires the sending to your Board Copies of the Muster Books by which he musters their Majesties' Ships, and he thereby permitted to send to you the original Muster Books instead thereof. We therefore hereby dispense with the said Articles in this particular case only and direct you to take notice accordingly.
