Document signed by James Southerne, Secretary to the Admiralty, fl. 1690-1694.

Application has been made by Andrew Dyer to be appointed Master Joiner of the Woolwich Yard, the present Master Joiner, Mr Dowson, wishing to resign his employment unto this Man.
You are to consider whether it is necessary that a Master Joiner be particularly appointed for the Woolwich Yard, and if so, what increase of Charge may be occasioned, and whether you judge Andrew Dyer is a fitting person for that place. Your opinion is desired as soon as possible.
