In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
Requiring the Companies of ships engaged in convoy work to be reduced to the Middle Complement. The KINGFISHER and PHEONIX are bound for Spain, the WOOLWICH and MARY GALLEY, for the Canaries; and the EXPERIMENT and MILFORD for Virginia and Maryland. The SALAMANDER now at Deptford is to be laid up and paid off. The cargo of the Prize taken by the JERSEY off the coast of Ireland and now also at Deptford is to be surveyed and an opinion given whether the timber is suitable for Navy use. A Ketch is to be hired as a Tender for the Squadron going to the Mediterranean and is to be fitted and victualled accordingly. The Officers and Company of those ships are to be paid for there service from May.
