In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board
A Danzig registered ship named the MARGARET has been seized in the Thames for importing goods in a foreign vessel contrary to the Navigation Act. A John Milford has however petitioned the King saying that the goods were for the use of the Navy. The Admiralty wishes to know whether Milford has in fact contracted with the Navy Board or whether he intends to. Similarly, the Admiralty wishes to know whether Samuel [Wickens] has contracted with the Navy Board for Masts from Hamburg brought in by the MUSCOVIA MERCHANT and also seized in the Thames, or whether he intends to.
