In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

Captain Byng having informed the Admiralty that he knows of a number of Men who would be prepared to serve under him voluntarily, orders are given for those Able Seamen who have Tickets signed by him to be sent to Chatham to join the Second Rates in order to assist in fitting them out. They are subsequently to be discharged in order to join whatever ship Byng is appointed to for next year's service. A Master is to be appointed to the ship if none has already been appointed in order to supervise the Men.
