In-letters and orders received by the Navy Board

We understand by your letter to our Secretary that in pursuance of the Orders of this Board you have hired two more Merchant Ships, to be employed as Hospital Ships to attend the Fleet for this year's service, on the same terms as the other two were hired, one called the BALTIMORE, Samuel Philips Master, and the other the SPENSER, Master Nicholas Goodside, the former to have forty five Men and the other forty Men.
We direct you to cause the Ships to be fitted in all respects for this service, manned with the aforementioned complement of Men, and victualled for four months.
